All of us receive advice at one time or another.    Sometimes we take it and sometimes we choose to ignore it.

I can happily say that I have no regrets about my choices in life so far.   Well, except that I didn’t take this one piece of advice…

You see, we had the chance to live and work in Mexico City for three years.  It was an amazing experience and one that I thoroughly enjoyed.  My boss at the time – still living in the United States – had been an expatriate once before during his career.  And his one piece of advice to me was to keep a journal of my experiences living in a foreign culture.

I got caught up in living in Mexico.  It engulfed me – in a good way.  And I didn’t take the time to make note of that special time.

It’s the one thing I regret.  And it’s with that in mind, I hope to not let the treasure of San Miguel breeze past me without capturing it!
